PSL 2025 Relocated to UAE Amid Rising Pakistan-India Border Tensions; Schedule Updates Pending

The remaining fixtures of the 2025 Pakistan Super League (PSL) have been relocated to the United Arab Emirates due to rising border tensions between Pakistan and India. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made the decision following urgent consultations with players and other stakeholders, prioritizing safety. Reports indicate that international players favored the move, influencing the board’s choice to shift the final eight matches.

Initially scheduled in Rawalpindi, Multan, and Lahore—including a rescheduled match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi—the games will now be played in the UAE. Although Karachi was considered as a backup host, logistical challenges and player feedback prompted a change in plan. The UAE, which has previously hosted PSL games, emerged as a practical alternative.

The updated match schedule has not been released, and minor delays are anticipated as officials work out venue arrangements. This unexpected shift may also impact Pakistan’s upcoming international commitments, particularly the T20I series against Bangladesh, which was originally slated to begin soon after the PSL season concluded. The PCB has yet to confirm if the series will proceed on schedule.
