Naru’s Return in Predator: Killer of Killers – Explained by Co-Director

The animated Predator film Killer of Killers weaves together three distinct historical battles between humans and the Yautja, spanning from Viking warriors in 841 to samurai in the 1600s and a WWII pilot in 1942. The climax unites these fighters in a gladiator-style showdown before their escape. However, the biggest surprise comes in the final scene, where Naru—Amber Midthunder’s character from Prey (set in 1719)—appears inside a cryo pod.

In a recent interview, co-director Dan Trachtenberg clarified that Naru’s presence isn’t due to time travel. Instead, the Yautja have captured warriors from different eras, placing them in stasis for future battles in their arenas. Naru, taken from her own time, remains preserved until she could be unleashed for combat.
