A thrilling IPL encounter in Delhi saw the Rajasthan Royals chase down 188 with ease, thanks to a sensational innings by 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The young left-hander scored a composed yet explosive 57 off 33 balls, guiding his team to a six-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings with 17 balls to spare.
Suryavanshi, already making headlines earlier in the season with a record-breaking T20 century, once again displayed incredible poise and power. He started cautiously but shifted gears after the early dismissal of his opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had blazed 36 off 19.
The teenager launched a counterattack with stylish boundaries and massive sixes, particularly targeting left-arm bowlers Noor Ahmed and Ravindra Jadeja. He reached his half-century in just 27 balls, smashing four sixes—all over the leg side.
RR captain Sanju Samson praised the young star, noting his rare mix of power, timing, and cricketing intelligence. Suryavanshi’s knock ensured the Royals chased the target with ease, with Dhruv Jurel adding an unbeaten 31 to finish the job.
Earlier, CSK posted 187-8, with Ayush Mhatre scoring 43 and Dewald Brevis contributing 42. However, a tight bowling performance from the Royals in the death overs restricted CSK to just 17 runs in the final three overs.
With this result, Rajasthan Royals ended their campaign on a high, while CSK remain at the bottom of the table with one game left.
